Get Ready with Me - Simple Day Look

Hello Everyone!

I will start of by saying that the first picture may be disturbing to some readers haha! As you will see I have hyperpigmentation and an uneven skin tone. I thought it would be nice to share with you a simple day look that I have been loving lately, in picture form.

This is me basically when I wake up in the morning. As you can see my skin is pretty horrid and needs lots of help.

I like to start off every morning by of course, brushing my teeth and washing my face. Lately I have been loving the St. Ives Blemish Control Green Tea Scrub. This has really helped me with my acne and I love how the ruff texture feels on my skin. Then I will moisturize my face with my Origins VitaZing SPF 15 Energy-Boosting Moisturizer with Mangosteen. For my eyes I love to use GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream to brighten and depuff. This instantly makes my eyes look brighter and more awake.

After my face is dry from the moisturizer, I will apply my Benefit POREfessional primer all over my face with an emphasis around my nose where my pores are much bigger. I like to give my primer a minute or two to dry and sink into my skin, so at this time I will usually change my clothes or do my hair if I'm doing something really fast and easy to it. Once this is dry, I will spray the Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray about four times all over my face. This dries rather quickly so I just fan my face with my hands to speed up the process. For foundation I decided to use my Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour Full Coverage Foundation (tan honey). I love the way this makes my face look when I blend it in with my Real Techniques Buffing brush. At this point I like to prime my eyelids even though I'm not applying eyeshadow yet. For this look I just used the Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer and blended it all over my lid and towards my eyebrow with my fingers.

To brighten my eyes just a bit more I love using the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer (Brightener). I will make a V-Shape under my eyes and blend it in with my Buffing brush. For hyperpigmentation and any blemishes that I may have I will use the Maybelline Super Stay 24 Concealer (Medium Beige) since it matches my skin perfectly. I will pat this in with my fingers to make sure it is blended in well. This has amazing coverage and I don't know why more people don't talk about it. At this time I will usually go back to my De-Slick setting spray because this is how I have found it works best for my skin. Once that is dry, I will set everything with my bareMinerals Matte Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 (Golden Medium). I will use a big powder brush and just sweep a small amount all over my face.

As you can see there is a huge difference in my face once I have set the base. Today I just decided to wear a messy bun with my Duck Dynasty t-shirt and some jeggings.

For this Simple Day Look I will be using the Stila In the Light Palette.

I applied the shade Kitten on about 3/4 of my eyelid from the inner to outer corner of my eye. As a crease color you should use a shade that is a few shades darker than your skin tone so I used the shade Bliss. Since I have hooded eyes, I like to apply the crease color on my crease and slightly higher towards my brow bone. If you have hooded eyes and just apply the color on your crease, then the color will disappear once you open your eyes. Now using the shade Sunset I will apply the color to the remaining 1/4 of my lid and the outer V of my eyelid. (Again make the V slightly higher than your crease). For eyeliner I just used the one that was included with the palette which is the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner (Damsel). I just made a thin line along my lash line, nothing fancy or winged. To soften the look I used the shade Sandstone and with a angled brush, went over the line and smudged it a bit to give a slightly messy look. (I also used this eye liner in my upper water line). Using Sandstone, I also applied a small about and blended it out on my lower lash line.

For blush I wanted something very natural but pretty so I went with the NYX blush in Terra Cotta. I simply patted and blended it out on my cheeks with a blush brush. To contour (no surprise) I used my Sleek Face Contour Kit (Medium). All I do is make a fishy face and make a line from the top of my ear towards the corner of my mouth but not all the way down. A fluffy angled brush works best form me. Then I make little zig-zag motions back-and-forth on the line to blend it out.

I like to use matte and light bronzers so the NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder (Sunny) is best for me. I apply this along my jaw, my cheeks, and temples. Basically you will make a B 3 shape on your face. Make sure to properly blend this so it doesn't look obvious. At this time I realized that I my face didn't look complete and I realized that I had forgotten mascara haha! I usually apply this before the blush and everything, but not today. I curl my eyelashes with a simple Revlon eyelash curler. Using the Benefit They're Real! Mascara I will put the brush as close to the root of my lashes as possible and wiggle the wand outward. I do this to the bottom lashes as well.

I'm not too sure why I like to leave this step towards the very end, but I don't like using it any other way. Using a fluffy brush, I will take the MAC Vanilla Pigment and apply it to the inner corners of my eyes to make them brighter. Using the same pigment and brush I will apply a small amount on my brow bone to make my eyebrows appear lifted. Since my eyes were a little simple I went for a bold lip. Using MAC Rebel I went over my lips and then applied the Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm (Jam Twist) on top.

This is the finished look (and Si).

Very natural and simple eye look.

Creepy cropped picture of just my eyes.

Hope you enjoyed this post :)

This is my first time doing a post like this so let me know what you think!

Maybelline Color Elixir

Hello Everyone!

By the look of the makeup station in my room it is pretty clear that I have enough lip products for the rest of my life. When I went into the drugstore last week I had no intention on buying any beauty products, but was sucked in by the Maybelline display.

Maybelline New York Color Elixir by Color Sensational

005 Breathtaking Apricot

035 Dashing Orchid

Applicators

A trio of concentrates delivers the color of a lipstick, the cushiony care of a balm, and the glass shine of a gloss.
Our exclusive smoothing angora brush delivers a polished , even application and smoothing sensation to lips.

I must say that I am very impressed by the Color Elixirs. The color and pigmentation of these are intense. What you see in the packaging is what you get on your lips. The formula is what is most interesting. It is that of a lip gloss but much more of a thicker gel like formula. On the lips, you get a thick plump feel without the sticky. It really feels as a lip gloss and lipstick in one. You get so much color and shine that it is unlike any other lip product I have ever tried. There is no need to layer this on top of lipstick or with a lip liner. They are all shimmery so if that isn't your cup of tea than I might stay away from these if I were you. They just look so beautiful on the lips and I love them. The applicator is great since it helps you apply the product precisely on the lips.

There are 20 different shades available that rage in colors of purple, nude, orange, red and pink. For $8.99 you really can't go wrong with these bad boys.

Hope you enjoyed this post :)

Sephora Haul

Hello Everyone!

I would like to start off by saying that this is in no way, me bragging about what I bought or what I have. I actually saved my money and actually put off buying these products for such a long time and I finally allowed myself to buy them. Hauls are some of my favorite posts/videos so I thought it would be fun to share mine.

I must sadly state the fact that the nearest Sephora is an hour away from my house. With school and school work, it is rare when I get the chance to make the long drive to go shopping. This past weekend two of my best friends and I decided to go to the mall and I went a little crazy there.

RevitaLift Miracle Blur

Hello Everyone!

Being only 19 years old I wouldn't exactly say that I suffer from wrinkles, but I do have fairly large pores and some small lines. I was a little hesitant to buy this product because of the price. Being a drugstore item, I wasn't too sure if I would buy this or just spend a little more for a high end product that I knew worked. I finally decided to give in and see how it worked for my skin.

L'Oreal RevitaLift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother

Miracle Blur instantly erases the look of lines, wrinkles, and pores. Skin instantly looks and feels smooth, leaving a velvet soft matte finish that lasts all day.
I am someone who suffers from acne (not severe) so primers are always a concern for me. Most drugstore primers tend to make me break out so I was a little concerned trying this one. Luckily this particular primer did not make me break out which was a huge plus for me. The first thing that you will notice about this primer is the smell. It smells exactly like sunblock, which it expected since it has SPF 30 and this is really good for your face. It is always important to protect your skin from the sun.

Like I have mentioned before, the price is a little steep for a drugstore primer. The price is anywhere from $20-$25 (depending on what store you go to) for about 1.18 oz. The good thing is that a small amount goes a long way. I will usually apply a small amount on my hands and spread it all over my face, then I will get a little more and do spot treatment. Although this is a primer, it doesn't make your face feel heavy and covered in product. My lines seem to instantly blur and my skin looks flawless. My pores seem to instantly vanish and my skin looks even and smooth.

I love this primer and I think that it is totally worth the price. Since I purchased this one, they have since released and Oil-Free version. This one would be great if you have really oils skin since you don't want to add anymore oil to it. I have normal skin with a slightly oily T-Zone and small dry patches. This primer works great for me and I highly recommend it to all of you.

Hope you enjoyed this review :)

Origins All Is Bright

Hello Everyone!

I would like to start off by saying a big thank you to all of you lovely people. I have hit 210 subscribers on GFC and I honestly have no idea how this happened in just a couple of months. I am truly grateful for each and every one of you and I love you guys lots. Here is a big Internet hug to each of you and I'm going to stop now since I am about to cry haha!

Now if you may (or may not) have noticed by my recent posts, I have been infatuated with Origins lately. I had never really tried any of their products before besides the Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask which I love dearly.

Over the past month or so I have truly fallen in love with the brand thanks to the wonderful sales clerk (I'm not too sure if that's what they're called but she's one of the Orgins ladies haha!). Her name is Gabby and you can tell that she truly cares about her clients. As opposed to trying to sell you any and everything, she really tries to recommend products that work best for your skin and tells you what might not work. I absolutely love her customer service and because of that I have bought so many new products to try.

Any-who! The line that I have been loving the most is GinZing. This line is meant to make your skin glow and bright which is great if you have uneven skin tone or hyperpigmentation. As one of their promotions they are currently selling this All Is Bright set for an amazing price and since I had already tried samples of all of them and loved them, I knew this was perfect for me.

Origins All Is Bright

GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer

GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff

GinZing Brightening Mascara to Lengthen and Lift (Black)

GinZing Brightening Cream Eye Shadow (Sugar Peach)

1. GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer - This lightweight, oil-free, skin energy drink, fortified with legendary skin-boosters like Panax Ginseng and Coffee Bean, jumpstarts hydration levels. Lackluster-looking skin is rapidly refreshed and revitalized to create a healthy, vibrant glow. This moisturizer is great for all skin types. The best thing that I love about this moisturizer is that it leaves your skin super hydrated without that greasy and oily feel. I use this as a night cream and my skin seems to have a beautiful glow.

2. GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream - Nature's clinically-proven morning-after eye cream instantly reduces dark circles. Unsightly bags and puffiness virtually disappear. And Origins proprietary complex of Caffeine from Coffee bean, Panax Ginseng, Magnolia Extract and natural optic brighteners rapidly wakes up, refreshes and restores radiance to tired eyes. When you are a full-time college student like I am, sleep is something that you don't get much of. I don't have much of a dark circle problem, but I do have puffy under eyes. This eye cream makes me look like I've had a full night of sleep even though I truly haven't. This eye cream has a pearly look to it that really helps to brighten the eyes. A small amount goes a long way so don't worry about that.

3. GinZing Brightening Mascara - Go from wimpy to whoa with Nature's lash-boosting pro. In an instant, the mega-plush brush sweeps up, fans out & delivers a powerful formula with eye-opening Carnauba Palm to every last lash. The result: soft, long, lush lashes that never look spiky, brittle or clumpy. I have been able to try this mascara a couple of times and I really love it. It gives a better than natural look to your lashes without giving the appearance that your not wearing any mascara. When I use this I don't even have to curl my lashes, but when I do it really helps to keep the curl. It doesn't clump and is very easy to remove.

4. GinZing Brightening Cream Eye Shadow - This versatile, cream shadow wears for 8 hours-and never creases, streaks, settles or slips off. It glides on smoothly so it's easy to build and blend. Wear alone, mix and match to create your perfect shade or use as a primer. No you guys already know how much I love my cream eye shadows. This is a beautiful champagne color, with more of a peach look. It lasts an amazing amount of time, doesn't crease and is easy to blend. The best thing is that if you have dark eyelids like me, then this cream eyeshadow helps.

The products alone (not including the bag) would sum up to a total of $63.00. This set is available for the great price of $35.00 which is an amazing bargain. I am so happy with this set and highly recommend you guys giving it a go. At my local Orgins this will only be available until the 19th of October, but you can also find this on their website.

Hope you enjoyed this post :)

Wet n Wild - Fergie Collection

Hello Everyone!

As most of you may know by now, Wet n Wild released the Fergie cosmetics collection. The range includes lipsticks to eyeshadows and everything in between. Since I already love Wet n Wild I decided to try a couple products from this collection and see how I liked them.

Wet n Wild - Fergie Collection

Photo Op Eyeshadow Palette - Desert Festival

Old School Glam

Fuchsianista

Left - Old School Glam
Right - Fuchsianista

Desert Festival

The Wet n Wild Fergie lipsticks are all a creme formula. There are ten different shades that range from nude to a blackish color. I opted for two colors that I normally wouldn't go for, but thought might look nice. Old School Glam is an dark orange shade while Fuchsianista is a fuchsia color with a hint of metallic blue/purple. These colors are absolutely beautiful. They are extremely pigmented and super creamy. They feel amazing on the lips due to the vitamins and minerals to keep lips soft, smooth, and kissable all day. What I love most about these lipsticks are long they last. They tend to lightly stain the lips and you only need one application to last most of the day. There is no taste or smell which I enjoy very much.

Price: $3.49

When it came to the eyeshadow palettes I went with the one that had more colors I would wear more often. These palettes are available in four different combinations of which I chose Desert Festival. In this palette there are two mattes, two shimmery and one shimmery/glitter shades. The lightest shade is a Cappuccino-Champagne shimmery color that I love so much all over the lid. Beside that one is a matte orange color that I haven't been brave enough to try just yet. Then there is a beautiful gold shimmery shade. Next to that one is a black shade with a hint of gold shimmer/sparkle. In the center of the palette is a matte dark brown shade for the outer "V" of your eyelid. These eyeshadows are super pigmented and creamy. They are easy to blend and don't crease or flake. They last such a long time and have a satin-smooth finish to them.

Price: $4.99

Overall I have very much enjoyed this collection and look forward to trying different colors and products.

Hope you enjoyed this review :)

Garnier Fructis Volume Extend

Hello Everyone!

When I first tried this product I didn't think much of it. I thought it was an okay product that I wasn't too sure if I would repurchase. It wasn't until I stopped using it that I realized how much I really loved this product and wanted to keep using.

Garnier Fructis Volume Extend Instant Bodifier Dry Shampoo

I tend to stay away from dry shampoos since I wash my hair everyday and have no need for them. What drew me into this particular product was how it emphasized that it would give volume. I have very long hair which tends to get weighed down and flat. Whenever a product claims to give volume I have to try it out.

As you may have already guessed this is a spray dry shampoo as opposed to the powder ones. I much prefer these since it is much quicker and since I don't really use if for dry shampoo purposes. I love how this sprays out of the bottle. It is very similar to a hairspray but a bit stronger spray. One of the things that I enjoy most about this product is the smell. It has a very pleasant citrus smell that isn't too strong and chemical-like. It is the type of smell that I don't mind my hair having throughout the day. I tend to get headaches from products that smell too strong and linger around.

This sprays out clear-ish. Now if you apply too much to an area or too close to the hair then it will get a light hint of white but it quickly can be fixed. I would suggest using a little bit since a little goes a long way with my hair. I get so much volume from this dry shampoo that I use it every single day. I style my hair as usual and then I will spray this in small sections at the top of my head. I will just run my fingers through or flip my hair upside down and done. My hair goes from completely flat to full of volume. Now that I know how much I love this, I plan on repurchasing it over and over again.

Hope you enjoyed this review :)

Toni&Guy Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray

Hello Everyone!

I am very lazy when it comes to my hair. I don't like to spend too much time styling it so sea salt sprays instantly became my best friends over the past year. Toni&Guy was a brand that I had be wanting to try for such a long time, but was unavailable in the U.S. When I stumbled across it at Target I knew exactly what product I wanted to try first.

Toni&Guy Casual

Sea Salt Texturising Spray

What really made me want to try this product was the texturising concept. I have very fine, very long hair. With it being so naturally straight, I need to use certain products so it doesn't look so flat and weighed down. This sea salt spray is part of Toni&Guy's Casual line.

The first thing about this product that I noticed was the smell. Most sea salt sprays that I have used have a weird smell that made me want to not use them anymore. The Toni&Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray's smell is very pleasant and I love that my hair remains to smell like it throughout the day. If you are looking for a product that will instantly give you body and texture, then I highly recommend you going out and buying one of these. My hair looks so much more thicker and alive when I use this. I've always had a problem with my fine hair, but when I use this it appears as though I have alot more hair than I really do.

I love to use this on dry hair, but it can be used on damp hair as well. I will brush through my hair and then spray this on. Using my hands I will scrunch my hair to create the waves. To add extra volume I love to flip my hair over and then scrunch it. I will then finish off with a bit of hairspray all over to ensure that the waves last. Most people may not have to apply hairspray, but my hair tends to fall very quickly because of how straight it is. On lazy hair days (most days haha) I love spraying this all over for a quick and easy look. I'm really excited to try more Toni&Guy products and see what wonders they will do to my hair. Sea salts sprays aren't that inexpensive for drugstore products but are a great investment. You only need to spray a thin layer all over so this product does last a good amount of time if you are concerned about spending money on it.

Price: $14.99

Hope you enjoyed this post :)

Orgins VitaZing SPF 15 Energy-Boosting Moisturizer with Mangosteen

Hello Everyone!

In the past month I have tried a couple new products and have noticed a great improvement in my skin. This is one of the products that has helped with making my skin look better than it ever has.

Orgins VitaZing SPF 15 Energy-Boosting Moisturizer with Mangosteen.

This multi-tasking moisturizer handles the vital jobs of hydrating, energizing and protecting to maintain skin's momentum all day. Gives skin the refreshing zing of antioxidant-rich Mangosteen. And adds a healthy hit of radiance that mimics the glow you get from a week's vacation.

I was a bit hesitant to purchase this moisturizer because of the tint. Most products that have a tint and claim to match every skin tone don't really live up to their claims. They tend to be too light and look unnatural on my face. If it hadn't been for the amazingly sweet representative at the Orgins counter, I probably wouldn't have purchased this. I tried this having no prior reviews from other people in mind. I can honestly say my skin hasn't looked this great in such a long time (I'm talking toddler days people!). This blends perfectly matching my skin tone and leaving my face hydrated and ready for makeup.

My face feels so energized after I apply this moisturizer in the morning. It adds a glow that I didn't have before and has transformed my skin from dull to radiant in the past month. I also believe this has helped with my hyperpigmentation and acne. I rarely have a blemish and my dark spots have dramatically diminished in color. A small amount of this goes a long way so I used a smaller than pea-sized amount to cover my whole face. This adds a nice dewy finish to my face without looking oily or greasy. This moisturizer also contains SPF 15 in it which is great to protect your skin from the sun. You will notice an improvement in your skin the first time that you use it. At $35 a tube this is a bit of a splurge, but since you only need a small amount it lasts you such a long time. I have used this everyday for over a month and am no where near the end of the tube.

Hope you enjoyed this review :)

5 under $5 - October

Hello Everyone!

Recently I went on a bit of a drugstore haul picking up products I had never tried. Some of these are new and some not so new, but they still are amazing products.

5 under $5 - October

1. Covergirl Eye Enhancers 4-Kit Shadows (260 Coffee Shop): I have really been loving this little palette for the Fall. The colors are very warm and work great together. These are not chalky and very pigmented. Having one of these is great since you have all that you need for an eye look. I use the white under the brow bone and inner corners to brighten my eyes. I then apply the gold shade all over my lid and the bronze color in the crease. Lastly, I apply the dark brown in the outer crease to make a lightly smokey look.

Price: $4.84

2. Wet n Wild Color Icon Blusher (Berry Shimmer): I know talk about this product alot, but I just really love it. The color is a beautiful color for Fall. It is extremely pigmented so a light touch is required for these. Like the name implies it is a shimmery blush, but not a strong shimmer.

Price: $2.99

3. Rimmel London Stay Glossy Lip Gloss (Captivate Me!): There is nothing worse than a sticky lip gloss. I am in love with these Stay Glossy lip glosses. They aren't sticky (obviously) and they last a long amount of time. The best thing is that they don't dry out the lips once they fade. This color has shimmer in it, but there are 18 available shades to choose from so you are bound to find one that you love.

Price: $3.99

4. e.l.f. Eyelid Primer - Most of the time I will use a cream eyeshadow base, but when I don't I love using this primer. It dries to a matte finish which is great if you have oily eyelids. It has a slight tint which is good if you have darker eyelids or visible veins like I do. This helps to make my eyeshadow last longer and prevents creasing.

Price: $1.00

5. Rimmel London Scandaleyes Long Wear Waterproof Eyeliner (Black) - I love liquid eyeliner, but sometimes I don't have to patience or time to attempt to put it on. I highly recommend this eyeliner to anyone. It is so creamy and pigmented that it gives an almost liquid eyeliner look. It does not tug on the eyelid and can be blended out for a more natural look. If you have not tried this, then you are surly missing out!

Price: $3.97

Hope you enjoyed this post :)

e.l.f Disney Villains Look Book

Hello Everyone!

Like most 90's kids, I am a huge Disney fan. I actually get called Pocahontas by some people I know because of how much they think I look like her. When I saw that e.l.f. had released Disney Villains look books I just couldn't resist myself in buying one.

There are four different look books inspired by the Disney Villains Ursula, Cruella de Vil, Maleficent and the Evil Queen. I opted for the Cruella de Vil look book, but not necessarily because she is my favorite villain or anything. I actually don't like any of the villains, but I chose this one because it had eyeshadow colors that I preferred to use.

Inside you will find a lengthening and defining mascara, an eyeliner pencil, liquid eyeliner, eyelid primer, lip color, shadow brush and eyeshadow palette with six different colors. On the left side of the book you will find a little tutorial to make a Cruella de Vil inspired day look, while on the right side you can find a tutorial for a night look. The packaging is simply adorable and really brings back memories from my childhood. e.l.f. eyeshadows are some of the most inexpensive, good eyeshadows at the drugstore. They are super pigmented and really easy to blend.

This is just a great concept for Halloween and I am so glad that e.l.f. decided to make these. These look books are available at Walgreens for $9.99 for a limited time. Make sure to go pick one up and bring out your own personal villain within (please just don't try to put a curse, or kill anyone).

Hope you enjoyed this post :)
