Back to School Series: Fall Lips

Hello Everyone!

Today I thought I would share with you some of the different colors I will be wearing on my lips this Fall. This is in no way me telling you that you have to go out and buy all of these lip products. I just thought it would be fun to show you my favorites for this Fall.

I have chosen two different categories for lips. For those of you that enjoy a more shear lip color, I have chosen a couple of those for you. If you are a person that really enjoys a full coverage lipstick then there's some suggestions for you as well.

1. Covergirl Lipslicks Smoochies - #2 cute: I am in love with this color. It is unlike any other color that I have ever tried and perfect for Fall. These smoochies are extremely moisturizing and perfect to just throw in your handbag for a quick splash of color.

2. Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain - Cranberry Crush: I have already talked about how much I love this lip stain before and cranberry is a great color for Fall. This is great if you are looking for an inexpensive alternative to balm stains.

3. Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Stain - 255 (Jam Twist?? Not too sure if that is the name): These gloss stains are much more sheer than the other balm stain mentioned above. It is more glossy and does not have a sticky feel at all.

4. Maybelline Color Whisper - Orange Attitude: Orange is a huge lip color for this Fall. If you are like me and are a little scared of wearing a bright orange lipstick, this is the perfect alternative for you. You still get a hint of orange without having to go all out.

5. Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick - 107: This is my favorite lipstick of all time. It is a deep matte red that really helps me feel super confident. This particular lipstick does not dry out your lips even though it is matte. These are under $5 at most drugstores and I couldn't recommend them more.

6. Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick - 01: This lipstick is more of a cherry red and has more of a creamy finish than the other lipstick.  They are extremely long wearing and very pigmented. They are a must have in every lipstick collection.

7. L'Oreal Paris Le Matte Colour Riche - Matte-r of Fact: This is the darkest of all my recommendations. It is a deep red than is even deeper than the Kate Moss Lipstick in 107. The wear is amazing on these but the colors are limited. I like wearing this shade when I don't feel like having to be constantly re-applying it throughout the day.

8. Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick - 410 Blissful Berry: Purple is also very popular this Fall. Now I did not wanr to just jump into this shade with a bright purple color. This is more of a pinkish-purple but you still get a good amount of purple. Color Senstaionals are very moisturizing and have a great finish.

Hope you enjoyed this post :)

Back to School Series: Comfy Fall Outfit Idea

Hello Everyone!

As you know Fall is quickly approaching. I know it may already feel like Fall since school started and all but it technically doesn't start until next week. Anyways, the Fall season is one of my very favorites because of the earthy colors and the comfy sweaters of course.

Everyone needs a comfy and cute Fall outfit to wear to school or just out and today I thought I would share mine with you.

This is one of my very favorite outfits to wear during the Fall for many reasons. It is comfortable yet appropriate to wear to school which is great for students like myself. I am all about these slouchy and loose sweaters in the colder months. The one that I am wearing is a tad sheer which is good if you don't get extremely cold weather where you live. I paired this sweater with my favorite high waisted black leggings. Now no matter what time of the year it is, you will more than likely find me in black legging or jeggings. I'm not a big jean kind-of girl so it is pretty rare to see me in some. During the Fall I love wearing combat boots. I think that they add a little extra something to an outfit. These are also perfect for walking through mud to get to class like I have to do every time I go to school haha! And of course you have to add a hat to tie the whole look together.

Sweater: Forever 21
Leggings: Forever 21
Boots: sodashoes.com
Hat: Charlotte Russe

I am in no way saying that you have to go out and buy all these things to wear in the Fall. This is just a suggestion of what you can wear and me sharing what I love to wear. Now if something that I am wearing isn't exactly your style, mix things up! Add your own personal twist to the outfit and make it your own. Don't feel obligated to dress a certain way because someone says so. If you like jeans, swap out the tights for a dark pair of jeans. Combat boots not your style? Maybe wear some booties or some sneakers. Do what makes you feel good, but don't forget to wear the outfit with confidence. Confidence is the best accessory to wear with every outfit :)

Back to School Series: Lazy Hair Styles

Hello Everyone!

Now I know we all have those days where you know you have to go somewhere but just don't have the energy to do your hair. For you guys that are in school like me, you are bound to have days where you wake up with just enough to throw clothes on and run out the door to get to class on time. Regardless of your reason, I think that everyone should have some quick and easy hair ideas to get out the door quickly.

Here are some of my favorite hair styles that I use when I'm just to lazy to take the time to do my hair (most days haha!).

For this look you will need a headband of any sort:

I have naturally very straight hair. On days where I just don't feel like doing anything I will go for this style. I will simply brush my hair through, apply some anti-humidity cream and a bit of hairspray on top. Then I will put on a headband and done!

For this look you will need a hair band and hair grip:

A fish-tail braid is my go-to look when the weather isn't as its best. I know that I won't have to really worry about my getting too out of control. To do a fish-tail braid you separate your hair into two sections. Then taking a small piece of the back of one section, you cross is over into the other and repeat this step to the other side. You will keep doing this until you get to the very end. Now this took me a while to get used to doing, but it's not as difficult as it sounds. I will then take a hair grip and pin back my fringe.

For this look you will need sea salt spray:

This is one of my favorite and most used hair styles. I will usually shower at night and blow dry my hair before I go to bed. In the morning all I to is add little bit of anti-humidity cream and then spray my Got2B sea salt spray all over my hair. Now I like to flip my head upside down and scrunch my hair for a bit more volume, but you can just scrunch your hair however you please.

For this look you will need a hair band:

Now this look is pretty self explanatory. I won't put anything in my hair that morning. I will flip my head upside down and gather all my hair on the top of my head. I will then spray a bit of hairspray to get the little hair settled down. I love to also spray some sea salt spray and scrunch my hair to give my hair a bit of volume as well.

For this look you will need two head bands and tons of hair grips:

This look is rather hard to explain how to do but I will try my best. Just like the previous look, I flip my head over and gather all my hair at the top of my head. (Here comes the tricky part) As I am holding my hair in one hand, I will then wrap the hair around my fist and grab the end of it into my hand. Basically you are making a circle of hair around your fist. I will grab a hair band and put it onto my hair leaving a mess at the top of my head. This is the step where you create the shape of the bun. I will just move my hair and twist it around until I get something that I like. Using the other hair band I will put it on my bun. Now use all the hair grips to put little strays into place and shape the bun again. Make sure they are the color of your hair so that you can't see them and use as many as you want. Add a little hair spray and you are good to go!

Hope you enjoyed this post :)

Back to School Series: Emergency Kit

Hello Everyone!

Now let me start off by saying that I'm not too sure how I have made it this far in life without breaking anything. If you get to know me you will quickly know that I am the most accident-prone person you will ever meet.

I will trip over nonexistent obstacles, bump into inanimate objects and walk into things constantly. I don't know why I do this, but I've done it my whole life. Because of all these reasons I found it essential to carry around my own personal Emergency Kit to help me get home alive haha! Now even if you're not as accident-prone as I am, it is still important to have some of these things with you to use during the day.

This is my Emergency Kit bag that I picked up in Sally's Beauty Supply for around $7.

1. Feminine Products - These are super important to constantly carry around no matter where I am. You never truly know when something is going to happen, so carrying these around with you just makes life so much easier. I have a few different kinds in my kit just in case someone else might need one. Us girls need to stick together during that cruel time of the month ha!

2. Band Aids - I learned to carry these around the hard way. Last semester I wore these insanely cute new flats to school and walked around campus all day. It wasn't until a long time later that I realized that they had actually cut the back of both my feet and the pain was horrible. During a break between classes I drove to a nearby drugstore and bought some things to clean-up the cuts and band aids to be able to make sure they didn't get infected. These have really helped me since I always cut myself on the randomest things.

3. Floss - These are literally sold any and everywhere. Just throwing some of these in a bag can really help you if you have food stuck in your teeth after lunch. I much prefer these floss sticks instead of actually floss that you have to stick your whole hand in your mouth to use.

4. Hand Sanitizer- I am a college student so I use this very often. I am constantly touching doors, chairs, desks, and computers that hundreds of other people have also touched. Having one of these really makes me feel safer when I go to lunch or am eating a snack between classes.

5. Hand Cream - Because I use hand sanitizer a lot, my hands tend to get a little dry throughout the day. I can easily pull this out and use and not have to worry about my hands aching.

6. Contacts Case - Now of course if you don't wear contacts then you really don't have to worry about carrying this. My classrooms tend to be freezing which makes my eyes a little drier than usual. If I ever feel that I just don't want to wear my contacts anymore or if I need to take them out to put drops in my eyes I know I always have my case with me. ( I also carry around solution for my contacts which is super important and eye drops.)

7. Lens Cleaner - When I do decided to wear my glasses ( again if you don't wear glasses you can skip this as well) I feel like I have to constantly clean them. I don't like looking through dirty glasses and this wipe makes sure I won't scratch or damage my lenses.

8. Tweezers - Since I do have very thick and dark eyebrows I feel like I have to constantly look over them. If for some reason I have extra time before I get off my truck to go to class I will quickly look over them. I can instantly see if there is a hair or two that needs to be plucked and can do so.

EXTRAS:
(these are a few products that I don't have in the picture above but still carry with me)

1. Gum - You never know when you'll have stinky breath.

2. Tissues

3. Umbrella - Obviously you can't put this in the bag, but I think you should have one with you. I like to have two in my truck, one in the front and one in the trunk.

4. Extra shoes - Again I like to have a spare pair of shoes in the trunk of my truck just in case the ones that I am using are bothering me.

5. Sweater - And again I will have one of these in the trunk just in case the weather decides to change and you need one. I just started doing this because of the crappy weather we have been having in South Texas. It has literally been horrible.

Hope you enjoyed this post :)

Back to School Series: What's in My Makeup Bag

Hello Everyone!

Well I might have mentioned this before, but I am currently attending college or university as some of you may call it. Since I don't live on campus and actually have to drive about 20 minutes to get to school, I always have to make sure that I have everything that I will need with me.

Most of the time I won't head straight home after my classes and go grab a bite to eat with a friend or stop at the mall on the way home instead (horrible placement of a mall for a person who loves buying stuff haha!).

I don't like to take too much makeup with me and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone as well. School is a time to learn and interact with others, not to be in the restroom applying makeup. I do however think it is important to take some essentials just in case you may need them.

You may not use all of these products depending on your age or skin type so adjust it in a way that will fit you!

This is the makeup bag that I currently use. I love the pattern of it and the shape as well. These more square kind of shaped makeup bags allow for loads of space and are great to take with you if you are staying somewhere overnight and need to take more makeup than usual. I picked up this particular one in Charlotte Russe for around $7. They do have a smaller one that has a plastic cover (great for a pencil case) for around $5.

1. PINK Soft and Dreamy Body Mist - I find it super necessary to carry one of these with me all the time. Living in place that rarely has weather under 90 degrees and is extremely humid, you don't want to walk around smelling. These are small enough to throw in your backpack and spray yourself during the day for reassurance. This one was given to me as a gift, but may be bought in Victoria's Secret.

2. Oil Absorbing Sheets -  Since I've already mentioned the weather you must already know that my face tends to get more oily than usual during my classes. I only have about ten minutes between class so these are prefect to just quickly remove the oil of my face and make it look as if I just applied my makeup.

3. Lips -  I tend to always have more than one lip product with me. I don't really know why but I just can't leave the house with one and sometimes I leave them in my bag and magically find them later. Some type of lip balm is super important especially if you have dry lips. I love the Maybelline Baby Lips (Quenched) since it has SPF in it and the  Carmex Moisturinzing Lip Balm.

For actual lipsticks I like to always have two with me as well. It all usually depends on what I feel like wearing that particular day. I don't have a set one that I always have in my bag. On this day I had the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink Pearl and Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in Stellar (two complete opposites ha!). I also have a Wet n Wild lipstick in Cinnamon because I can't resist a red lip.

4. Face -  Again I don't like to apply too much makeup during the school day, but I do like to touch up if I'm going somewhere afterwards. Concealer is always to first thing to go when it comes to makeup. I think it is super important for me to carry one to cover-up any spots that may be visible at the end of the day. I am currently loving the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Medium.

I love to set the concealer with a powder. I don't go crazy with the powder, but just lightly sweep it all over my face and concentrate on areas where I put concealer. This is the MAC Mineralized Skin Finish in NC35. Most of the time I just leave my face alone after this, but sometimes I like to apply some blush. Now I don't do this all the time but if I do, I like to use something natural like the Natural Collection Blush Powder in Peach Melba.

5. Eyes - Because of the high humidity I find that my eyeliner tends to get a tad bit lighter by the end of my classes. If I want to I will usually just quickly go over it again lightly to make me look a little bit more done-up. I am in love with the L'Oreal Super Slim Liquid Eyeliner, it is practically mistake proof.

I don't think my eyes are fully done until I have curled my eyelashes. Mine are naturally really dark, (pretty much black) and I love the way that they look curled. I'm not too sure what eyelash curler this is but just find one that you love and use it.

6. Hair - This technically isn't a makeup item, but it is just as important. I can't leave my house with out some hair grips and hair ties. You never truly know how your hair is going to look by the end of the day and having these make for a quick fix to a disastrous hair day.
